This evaluation reviewed the partnership between Arizona State University and Yerevan State University and the Center for Women’s Leadership that was created at Yerevan State University. Salaam Cultural Museum. Jordan. Participated in the humanitarian side of the Salam Mission to help Syrian refugees in Jordan; organized and led Salaam meetings with UNHCR, UNICEF, Middle East Children’s Initiative (MECI), and other international donor organizations. The meetings were to follow up with planning service delivery for the various sectors of the refugee populations, mainly children and adolescent youth in the areas of protection, non-formal learning, and gender empowerment. International Program for the Elimination of Child Labor / International Labor Organization. (UN – IPEC / ILO). Amman, Jordan, Evaluation Advisor. Carried out an independent final evaluation of the IPEC/ILO “Elimination of Child Labor (ECL)” Country Program in Jordan. The evaluation included desk review, interviews of project implementers and stakeholders, analysis of findings, write-up of the final report, with recommendations to determine the next phase of the ECL project in Jordan, including planning for child protection interventions. August – September 2007.

The program addressed major aspects of domestic violence prevention work including: education, public awareness, coalition building and advocacy; the essentials of shelter, hotline and support group organization; as well as arenas of judicial, law enforcement and public health. Malaysia
Arab Gulf Program for United Nations Development Organizations (AGFUND) Kuala Lampur. Evaluator. Evaluated development projects nominated for the AGFUND International Prize for Pioneering Development Projects for 2010, and participated with other arbitrators and the Board in selecting topics to be nominated for the Prize for the next year. Intermittently evaluated AGFUND-funded projects for the Annual Prize since 2000. 2010.
Palestinian Territories
Fund for Population Activities (UNFPA) Gender Regional Initiative Project. Jerusalem and Gaza, United Nations Gender Consultant. Evaluated the Gender Mainstreaming in Reproductive Health Program, and provided gender empowerment training to women in Gaza as part of AWSO: Arab Women Speak Out; a project of Johns Hopkins University – Center for Communication Programs. Poland
U.S. Department of State. Women’s Neighborhood Networking Project. Team member. As part of team that provided training for members of the Uzhgorod Sister City Association of Citizens (Ukraine) in organizing neighborhood-level networks in Uzhgorod for mutual assistance in times of need. Project built working linkages between emergency service personnel in Uzhgorod and Krakow, Poland, to help build a regional network of emergency service professionals who can share lessons learned and collaborate during large-scale emergencies.
Qatar
Carried out field research in Qatar for project focused on Arab/American relations, post-9/11. Work focused on interconnected themes of identity, racism, discrimination and Othering, the role of the media, and how these ultimately influence a collective sense of and experience of human security. (2009-10).
Russian Far East (Sakhalin)

U.S. Department of State. Director, Tajik Women’s Leadership Project. As Director and principal investigator responsible for building and leading international team to create and support a coalition of women leaders of non-governmental organizations in Tajikistan. Work involved intensive ToT component and strengthening the capacity of non-governmental organizations in Tajikistan through comprehensive leadership training.
Tunisia
International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF), Arab World Regional Office (AWRO), Tunis, Tunisia. Regional Gender Advisor. Provided technical assistance to 14 family planning associations in the Arab World in the area of gender, reproductive health and rights. Wrote and submitted funding proposals to the United Nations Fund for Population Activities (UNFPA), the World Health Organization (WHO) and other donor agencies. Organized and participated in several seminars and workshops with WHO and other regional and international reproductive health and reproductive rights organizations. January-June 2000.
